Glacier Media Group is looking for two investigative journalists and two columnists for the Glacier Media chain.
The investigative roles require a strong and experienced understanding of the business and political climate, a tenacity with such techniques as freedom-of-information requests, and a robust productivity to be on the file with short-, medium- and long-range projects and pieces. Skills in data visualization, podcasting and video are assets in these positions.
Candidates should be prepared to provide examples of their work in this area and to present a plan of action for the first six months in their roles as part of their applications.
The columnist roles require detailed familiarity with political, economic and social issues in western Canada, evidence-based argumentation as an inherent skill, and no shortage of writerly flair. Columnists will be expected to publish three times weekly, maintain a strong social media presence, and be a strong public representative of the company's journalism.
Candidates should be prepared to provide examples of their columns and their plan of action for the first six months in their roles as part of their applications.
