One of the most familiar faces on Vancouver television, award-winning broadcaster and producer Fiona Forbes is joining Glacier Media Group as Editor of the Living magazine brand. Living magazine, a luxury publication delivered to a luxury market, serves Vancouver’s notable West Side and North Shore communities with a special focus on waterfront homes on both sides of the Burrard Inlet.
Forbes, who studied journalism at BCIT and has been on the cutting-edge of topical news, society and community events for nearly two decades, will oversee both the recently redesigned North Shore Living magazine, and the soon-to-be-launched, West Side Living, which begins publication in April 2017.
“This new venture is an exciting return to my journalism roots,” said Forbes, who will continue to host her two shows on Shaw TV, Where You Live and Up Front. “It’s not only a chance for me to put together some amazing content about subjects, people and places I love, but this new position will mean closer ties to two communities I have strong connections with.”
Fiona grew up and lives on Vancouver’s West Side, and she often ventures to the North Shore to visit friends and relatives. As well as a successful TV career, she has enjoyed filling in on the evening program at Vancouver’s News Talk Radio CKNW for the past three years, covering the headlines of the day and having engaging, insightful conversations with guests and callers.
“We’re delighted to welcome Fiona to the Glacier team,” said Peter Kvarnstrom, President of Community Media at Glacier, and Publisher of the Living magazines. “She is extremely connected to the communities these magazines serve, and we can’t wait to see her flourish in this role.”
“Fiona will add her personal brand to insure that Living becomes the pre-eminent brand in the luxury magazine publishing segment throughout Vancouver,” said Associate Publisher, Robert Read. “Fiona’s creativity, connections and commitment to this segment will add greatly to the team of professionals we have assembled.”
Fiona will be working alongside Managing Editor Lise Boullard, who also joins the Living team from Vita, which she has helped transform into the leading lifestyle print supplement of Vitamin Daily.
